DAP Premium 8614 (Build 414) is a download manager for Windows XP.
It comes bundled with SpeedBit Video Accelerator, an utility to enhance your system´s video performance.
The first thing that Download Accelerator will do when it finishes installing is to download and install Speed Optimizer 3. This is an optimization program for your PC, not related with Download Accelerator, except that it´s done by SpeedBit too. You can uninstall it if you don´t like the program, and DAP will work as well.
By default, DAP will catch your browser´s downloads, but you can also tell the program to download a file providing its URL. If you don´t change anything, the file will be put in ...\My Documents\My Completed Downloads. You can, of course, change the destination folder through the "Options" menu.
Using that same menu, you can fine-tune the whole application, adjusting your settings, broadband speed, language, proxy and lots more.
You can also run the "Configuration Wizard" in twelve different languages. |
- It´s a nice tool to resume broken downloads, and to speed up the whole process.
